Myofascial Release.

An effective and highly specialised form of bodywork, Myofascial Release is a hands-on treatment that re-organises and releases restrictions from the body’s fascial network.

An easy way to picture the fascial network is to imagine a weblike bodysuit that runs right from the top of the head to the soles of the feet. This structure envelops and connects everything in the body – every muscle fibre, nerve ending, internal organs and even the brain.

Past trauma to the body, both physical and emotional, causes a hardening and sticking of the fascia to the other structures around it. That means any restrictions create an imbalance in the body – a pull.

During a treatment, I use a combination of techniques to facilitate a release – all of which are performed skin-to-skin without oils or creams.

Some of these techniques are direct, with tissues moved in a particular direction; while some are indirect, with a sustained stretch held for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing the body to ease and release.

Myofascial release is deeply relaxing, and many clients report an immediate improvement in symptoms. Some people may feel a slight tenderness a day or so after a session, but this discomfort quickly eases - you’ll feel immense improvement in both mental and physical wellbeing.

The practice commonly allows an emotional release, a positive experience in healing past trauma and freeing the body of holding patterns.

Sports & Remedial Massage.

An ideal treatment for sports enthusiasts to speed up recovery after events, help prevent injuries and increase range of motion; as well as those less sporty looking to solve everyday issues.

Sports and remedial massage works to 'remedy' muscular dysfunction through advanced techniques such as NMT (neuro muscular technique), MET (muscle energy technique), STR (soft tissue release) and MFR (myofascial release). By stretching tight muscles, breaking down scar tissue and knots, flushing out toxins and allowing fresh blood into the muscles, these techniques return the body to a more balanced state. Sports massage isn’t just for sports people, the techniques are invaluable in treating daily stress, poor posture, anxiety and shallow breathing which all cause tension, weakness and loss of mobility. When needed I also use kinesiology tape, acupuncture and LED phototherapy to help aid recovery and tissue repair.

Pregnancy & Post-natal Massage.

Pregnancy is one of life’s most challenging events as well as one of the most rewarding. Massage is a great way to help mind and body to adapt to the physical and emotional changes it experiences during this period.

Each trimester brings with it different physical and emotional changes and challenges. My treatments take all these changes into consideration and are adapted accordingly to help ease symptoms such as morning sickness, carpel tunnel syndrome, back pain, swelling and insomnia, as well as helping the client to relax in preparation for the birth.

After 40 weeks specific acupressure points can be stimulated to help encourage labour (but rest assured that no amount of pressing or poking will bring the baby into the world before it is ready).

If someone wants a deeper massage, I am happy to do this. I work with the greatest of care, respect and safety, always making sure to communicate clearly with my client.

Indian Head Massage.

Indian Head Massage is a simultaneously invigorating and energy balancing treatment that has been practiced in India for more than 1000 years.

Despite the name, this mind-stilling massage actually encompasses key areas throughout the upper body that store emotional tension from the upper arms to the neck, scalp, ears and face. Traditionally performed when you are clothed and seated, it is an ideal desk-side treatment but is perhaps even more relaxing when enjoyed lying down.

Invigorating, circulation-boosting strokes and pressure points coupled with energy-balancing techniques give this massage a unique ability to simultaneously stimulate and calm the mind.

LED Light Therapy

LED light therapy is based on research by NASA, which shows that certain frequencies of light trigger the body to convert light energy into cell energy.

Specific wavelengths are absorbed by the skin to stimulate cell renewal and collagen production, resolve problem skin conditions such as acne and redness and accelerate skin healing. It is a safe and pain free treatment without downtime. The Dermalux LED phototherapy is a non-invasive treatment that delivers clinically proven therapeutic light energy for rejuvenating and corrective benefits. Following a single session, you can expect immediate improvement in skin tone, hydration and luminosity whilst the beneficial light simultaneously stimulates deeper cell processes for longer lasting benefits in the skin.

UV-free, it has numerous positive influences on the body overall, including increasing vitamin D production and boosting energy, as well as having healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Dermalux is medically certified for the treatment of acne, psoriasis, wound healing and musculoskeletal pain. Cosmetic indications include skin rejuvenation, pigmentation, redness and sensitive skin conditions.

The LED light therapy can be incorporated into the Facelift massage and also into any massage treatment where appropriate.

BLUE LIGHT TREATMENT THERAPY - Powerful anti-bacterial properties.

Blemish fighting blue light destroys the bacteria which causes acne and helps in the prevention of breakouts.

RED LIGHT TREATMENT THERAPY - Repairs, rejuvenates and revitalises the skin.

Rejuvenating Red light accelerates cell renewal and repair, boosting collagen and elastin synthesis for smoother firmer skin.

NEAR INFRARED TREATMENT - Near Infrared works with red light for optimum rejuvenation results.

Perfect for: Anti-ageing, or treating sensitive skin, rosacea, psoriasis or pigmentation and muscular and joint pain.

Hot Stone Massage.

Hot Stone Massage is a deeply penetrative massage performed using heated Basalt stones in place of Becky’s hands.

Due to their rich iron content these stones have a wonderful ability to store heat that helps to soothe the nervous system and comfort the muscles, facilitating the release of chronic muscular tension.

This is a power-packed technique – one stroke with the stone is said to be worth seven with the hand. Hot Stone Massage is available as a complete full body treatment or can be incorporated into a Sports or Remedial Massage to help release specific trouble spots.

The use of cold marble stones is ideal for acute injuries where there is inflammation, swelling, pain and reduced mobility.  The combination of alternating hot and cold stones in a specific area can be extremely effective, a technique known as 'contrast bathing'.  It pumps fresh blood through the damaged area, reducing swelling and assisting chronic muscular and joint pain.

FaceLift Massage.

Becky’s signature Facelift Massage naturally lifts and plumps the skin without the need for more drastic measures

From our early thirties, our muscles start to lose their tone as the collagen and elastin that keep our connective tissue strong and supple diminish. In time, our faces can look drawn, pinched and furrowed where we have repeatedly pulled certain facial expressions.

This treatment is a deeply relaxing, almost meditative experience that uses a combination of Ayurvedic principles, Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage and Reiki to free restrictions, helping to naturally fill in wrinkles and lift sagging facial contours.

Traditional massage strokes boost circulation, bringing a fresh supply of blood and nutrients to the skin, while lymphatic drainage evacuates toxins, pumping out stagnant fluids that often cause puffy and sluggish skin and acupressure points clears sinus tension and relaxes strained and tired facial muscles.

The result is a fresher, more luminous complexion apparent from your first session. With a course of treatments, you can enjoy a reduction in expression lines, an increase in vibrancy and perkier plumped skin.

With the addition of the Dermalux LED phototherapy, this facial is super charged from within the skins cells, stimulating the skins own repair mechanism, correcting problem skin conditions and helping to restore optimum skin function.
